  1. That sounds like a great trip, and one we’d like to do sometime, too. We spent a few days in St Louis in May and had a very good time – there are lots of family-friendly things to do there! If you didn’t go to the City Museum, you’ll have to plan another trip there just for that! My kids would like to make that a yearly destination point.

  2. WOW! I love your spontaneity! Was it easy to see all in one day? What else did you do there? (Any authors I should know of in southeastern or northeastern PA? Mark Twain is well-known in Elmira, NYI suspect you have read the LH on Rocky Ridge? I read it last year or so. 🙂

Laura is only an inch shorter than me. I would love a kitchen built to my size! I can barely reach the second shelf in my cupboards.

  3. We have the same plan with our kids. We want to show them this land! Which means we should eventually land down south and you really ought to come and explore the Oregon trail. 😉

What a FUN trip! That is so cool. How special that you got to experience that as a family.

    And also, I wouldn’t mind spending 1 1/2 hours in a Chick fil A. ;D

  4. I really loved this! I would so love to visit this place someday, but I’m not sure it will happen as my girls are past the age and my husband has no interest. So, thanks for helping me experience it through your words and photos.

  5. I’m not much of a traveler but I would love to take this trip. I knew they were both short (I think A was 5’4″) and that he had built the house to their proportions. I just finished reading Farmer Boy about his life, and his whole family was industrious. Thanks so much for telling me about this!
