  1. I like your comment about a “bonafide” adult! I’m the other kind, too. Children’s books tend to be cleaner than adult books, and shorter, so I get through them faster, which is an advantage when you don’t have much time (although I love long books, too!). Anyway, I’m always on the lookout for good books for my children. We enjoyed Across Five Aprils, too, when we read it a few years ago.

      My daughter is 11 1/2, and it was fine for her. It’s pretty complex emotionally, so your mileage may vary. 🙂
